FULL-TIME POSITIONS
Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic
Full-Time Firefighter/EMT-Basic
Currently accepting applications for full-time Firefighter/Paramedic and/or full-time Firefighter/EMT-Basic with the Trenton Fire Department. Applicants must have completed Fire 1, Fire 2, and be certified minimally as an EMT-Basic at the time of hire. CPAT must be obtained within the probationary period. Applicants must meet all City employment standards, including an excellent driving record. Selected candidates must complete a thorough background investigation, oral interview, physical exam including drug screen, and psychological exam.
Wages start at $44,405 for a FF/EMT-Basic, $48,453 for FF/Paramedic, and reach a maximum of $68,692 after 5 years of service as a FF/Paramedic. A comprehensive benefits package is provided including health, dental, optical, life insurance, and a defined benefit pension plan. Applicants hired as a FF/EMT-Basic will have 9 months, or 2 NREMT testing attempts, whichever is first, to obtain a Paramedic license.

Full-Time Police Officer
To maintain a list of qualified applicants for upcoming full-time Police Officer vacancies with the Trenton Police Department. Applicants must be either certified police officers or be MCOLES certifiable as a police officer in the State of Michigan, at the time of hire. Strongly prefer a minimum of an associate’s degree or completion of 60 credit hours in law enforcement or a related curriculum. Applicants must meet all MCOLES and City employment standards, including an excellent driving record. Selected candidates must complete a thorough background investigation, oral interviews, physical exam including drug screen, and psychological evaluation.
Wages for Patrol officers beginning July 1, 2021, start at $46,811 and reach a maximum of $71,679 after 5 years of service. A comprehensive benefits package is provided including health, dental, optical, life insurance, and a defined benefit pension plan. Police Officers with certified police officer experience are eligible for up to 2 years of immediate lateral pay adjustments to a maximum starting base pay rate of $56,414.

DPS - Laborer
The City of Trenton is seeking applicants for a full-time Laborer within our Department of Public Service. At this time, the City is waiving the requirement for a CDL-B license at the time of application. However, all non-CDL holders must obtain a CDL within six months of employment.
Pay is $17.991 - $21.961 depending on experience and qualifications.
Immediate eligibility for Medical/Rx/Dental/Vision benefits. 401(a) plan with employer matching, Health Care Savings Plan with employer matching, and additional benefits available upon hire.

PART-TIME POSITIONS
Building Department Clerical Support
The City of Trenton is seeking qualified applicants for the position of part-time clerical support for the Building & Engineering Department.
Rate of Pay: $15-16 / Hr.
Hours: 25-28 hours per week
This position helps prepare correspondence, maintains records, responds to public inquiries and requests, issues permits and schedules inspections.

Public Safety Dispatcher
The City of Trenton is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Part-Time Public Safety Dispatcher.
Rate of Pay:
- Day Shift: $18.52 / Hr
- Midnight Shift: $19.52 / Hr
- Overtime eligible
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Emergency 911 operator service;
- Computer-aided dispatch
- Clerical Tasks
Successful applicants will be required to go through the interview process, background check, criminal history, drug screen, and psychological exam.
